Here is a simple modification you can make to fenders that have been riveted to their mounting straps. The rivets in the fenders tend to loosen up over time; this modification will prevent cracks in your paint after the rivets loosen and the fender begins vibrating independently of the mount strap.
Not super high tech or glamorous, but worth the time and effort! Plus you get a cleaner looking front fender in the end.
